My new toy

Today I got time to play with my new camera. It is just so easy to use on auto of cause and it have a lot of others functions, that I have to learn how to use. I took these photo in my garden. Take a look.

Over at my favourite Danish forum, my good friend Karen aka Lindse is running a very fun challenge. It´s called blind scrap lift, we are suppose to lift a layout she has made, but we can’t see it. We had to ask 10 questions and make the layout out off the answers. Here is what I came up with

Titel: You don´t dare!

Journaling :
I have through my hole childhood been afraid of heights, but the last couple off years it´s been better because I challenge myself whenever I have the possibility. When my brother in law said that I didn’t dare to try the “Golden Tower” in Tivoli ( a 70 meters high amusement tower) I had to do it. About the experience I can only said I did it and there is no danger of me doing it again.

I don’t know if my layout looks like karens, but it was so fun to do the challenge.

Tomorrow I’m starting on my new job and I’m very exited and a little bit nervous. Thanks for stopping by.

I´m back!

I’m back home after some wonderful days on Funen. The cottage was fine and from the living room there was an amazing view over some cornfields. At the evening when it became dark we could se some fallow deer walking around in the cornfields and twice they came all the way through our garden. It was so beautiful to watch, but unfortunately I didn’t get it on camera.

We visited The Fjord & bælt centre in Kerteminde. It´s the only place in the world to offer a close -up porpoise experience. We saw the playful seals and graceful porpoises, looked at aquariums and walk through the undersea tunnel.

We had a great day at the castle Egeskov. It´s the best preserved renaissance island fort in Europe. It´s a family owned castle with its own 40 acres of park, exiting old – timer- museums and several mazes. The castle has belonged to the family Ahlefeldt- laurvig- Bille since 1748. it was build in 1554, when Frands Brockenhuus had a whole oak forest cut down to build this beautiful renaissance castle in the middle of a lake.

Friday I did something crazy, I bought a new camera even though I got one at Christmas. It´s a Nikon D40, so now I have to read the instruction book and I can’t wait to play with it.

Yesterday I went to a 12 hours crop at my local scrapbook store. I had a blast as usual, a lot of fun, talking and I actually made 5 layout. One of them was for the store, so I can´t show it, but take a look at the rest. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday update

I finished my secret project today and I actually got time to scrap a double page, which I haven’t don in a long time. I do most single pages and when I do double pages I always use a sketch. I did a lot of surfing on the net after a sketch but I couldn’t find one there fit my photos. I decided to draw my own and I would like to share it with you.

Feel free to use it if you like it and do leave me a comment if you use it. I think it will be awesome to see what other gets out off it.

Here is what I came up with

I used my Photoshop element 2 program to do journaling on the photos and for the first time I also used the brush function to make the frame around the photos. This is absolutely something I’m going do more, because I love the result. Afterwards I used sandpaper and ink on the photo edges.

Journaling on the photos: Hmm wonder who lives here, is it a water mole or a rat. We better do something. Making a trap ready, now we just hope the unwanted visitor likes apple.
Journaling on paper. We caught 6 rats in only two days.

Thanks for stopping by.

Holiday

I’m enjoying my holiday even though the weather isn´t so great. My daughter has been on a little camping trip with her grandparents, so I have had a couple of days for my self. It´s been grat but I must admit that I miss her and I’m glad she is coming home today.
I have been scrapping a lot for my big secret project. I just hate that I can share this with you yet, but it has to wait until September.

Yesterday I bought a new sewing machine. I know it´s crazy to buy a machine just to sew in paper, but I got on sale and it only cost about 90$. So now I jut have to find out how it works, because I have never been great at sewing…*LOL*
Monday morning a man from the noxious animal control came and did a test of our sewer and fortunately there is nothing wrong with it. The rats must have come from somewhere else and we haven’t caught any sins Saturday, so I hope they are gone for good.

Here is a layout I made a couple of month ago .It has been hanging at my local scrapbook store and now I got it back.

The photos are from my daughter first school day in 4 grade.

Titel: Back to duty

Journaling:
- No more sleeping in
- No more relaxing all day long
- No more long evening in the garden
+ reunion with friends
+ new school bag
+ learning new things
+ fun trips with the club

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all injoy the summer.

A hard sad day

I just had my last day at my job. It been a hard day. I ´m looking forward to having 3 weeks vacation and to start on my new job 1 August, but it was so hard to say goodbye to all the kids.
When all 80 kids song the goodbye and thank song ( a Danish children song) for me at our weekly community singing I couldn’t hold the tears back. It was so sweet. Later a little boy , and his parent came to say goodbye. I have been taking care of this little boy since his was 10 month old and now his is 3 years. When he came to say goodbye, he gave me a little paint he had made himself and I just broke into tears, then his parent start crying too. It was just so emotional, but I guess that just the hard part off the job, when you work with kids.
The painting is going to hang in my scraproom. It´s a sweet memories to have.

By the way we sat some traps up . We already caught five but unfortunately it wasn´t water voles as I thought . It were rats, so we have been talking to the noxious animal control and as soon the rain stop they will come and control our sewer. I just hate those animals.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Water Vole ....UGH!!

Today I saw a water vole in my flowerbed. First I thought it was a rat and got very scared. Then I looked it up on google and saw it was a water vole and it eats all the roots on my beautiful roses. Now I have to find a way to catch and kill it. Any suggestions

Still working on my top scret project but I can show you this layout I made from a sketch provided by Di Hickman due July 1.
The photos are from an exhibition on "Kronborg"
an old castle, I went to last summer.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

More cards

Today I visited my parents in Sweden. On my way to theirs apartment I came across a little store I has been passing a hundred of times but today it was open, so I went in and got a big surprise. It´s was actually a card and scrapbooking store. I found this awesome clear stamp alphabet and I just had to buy it.

Last Wednesday I was to a crop in my local scrapbook store DreamPapers and I decided to give my self a gift for making it all the way to the final in the contest over at Chalet. I gave my self this awesome new red tote and I love the fact that you can turn it around.

The last couple of days I been working on a top secret project. I can’t show it , but I can show you some cards I made. Take a look

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Midsummer Day

Saturday we celebrated Midsummer Eve called Sant Hans in Denmark. It´s a old tradition where we go to the beach in the evening and look at the midsummer bonfire. All over Denmark there are bonfire on beach tonight. In the middle of the bonfire there has to bee a witch. The old tradition say that the witch fly to "Bloksbjerg" to get together.
Normally my parents come for dinner and bonfire in our garden, but this year they were on vacation, so it was only Anders, Signe and me. We had a nice dinner outside and afterwards we drove to Hornbæk to see the bonfire on the beach, and of course I had to take some pictures.

I just gave employer my resignation. I have know for a while that I was going to give my notice and it has been so hard not being able to talk about it. But last Monday I got my papers from my new job. I’m just so happy. So now Ijust have two more weeks at work ,then I have 3 weeks holiday and after that I start on my new job.
I didn’t win the contest over at Scrapbooks Chalet, but on the other side I didn’t expected to. I feel honoured to make it all the way to the finale. To end at a second place out of 53 participants that´s a victory in it self.
I just made another giftback and card to a friend.
Thanks for stopping by.

Altered wooden cigar box

I just finished my altered item to the finale in the "design like a star" over at Scrapbook Chalet. I just can´t belive that i ahve been in this contest for 11 weeks. It´s has been so funny, hard and inspering on the same time.
This week challeng was a altered item and first it freak me out, because I never realy don an altered item, but then I came up with an idea.

I made a photo frame out of an old wooden cigar box.
I painted the box with white acrylic paint, cut a frame out of chipboard. Then I decorated the frame with pieces of pattern paper, rihenstone, flowers and chipboards shapes.
I must say I´m really proud and satisfied with the result.
Now I just have to wait for the result of the voteing this Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.

I did it

I never thought I would make it this fare in the contest over at Scrapbook Charlet and I don´t realy belive it yet, but I´m in the finale. It has been a great and inspiring experience. I´m so happy and honoured to make all the way.

This weeks challenge is going to be a hard one. The challenge is an altered item .To create something, anything unusual and I have never made a alter item.........but I got an idea, so now I just hope that i can create it.

I don´t this I have a change to win this, because my other competitor is Dawn aka Crafty Girl and she is so talented and my own big scrapbooking idol.

Yesterday I went to a 12 hours crop at my local scrapbook store DreamPapers and I had a blast as usual. I was so lucky to win a awesome clear stamp alphabet from Atumn Leavs in a challange where we should use 3 pieces of pattern papers , 3 pieces of plain papers and 3 photos that should have different size.

here is my wining layout: The beauty of nature
I have used the round sketch from pencillines and Becky Thackston´s idea to put the layout on a 12 x 12 cardstock

Actually I made two layouts for the challenge.
here is the other one
Gotcha
Journaling:
Signe didn’t want to get her picture taken, so what dose a scrap crazy mother do?She tell the kid that she can have 9$ if her mother get to take the picture and the kid just look up and smile.
I also manage to make two other pages...take a look
The fitness queen Jeanette.
Photos of my dear twin sister
journaling:
Jeanette didn’t think that we could use a hole weekend only to relax, so she went to the fitness room while the rest of us were relaxing in the spa bath
Memories
Some very old photos of my big brother, twin sister and me. I don´t know what year they were taken, but I think it must be in the 70èrn maby 1977.
Journaling:
Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are and the things you never want to lose.

Did someone said buttons?

I was teaching a class in doodling monday evening at my local scrapbook store Dreampapaers.
After the class I had a little extra time before I should home and I just looked around and saw this buttons.
I love buttons and couldn´t decide which one to buy so I just had to have them all......yea I know I´m crazzy, but they are just so awesome.

By the way I´m through to round 10 in the contest over at Scrapbook Chalet.

This weeks challenge is a skecht challenge. The skecht we are going to use is from Pencillines and made by Martha Bonneau.

Here is what I came up with.

The photo is my lovely daughter back in 2002 and when I look at it, it just make me realize how much she has grown. My little girl is gone and now I have a 10 years old big girl who already act like a teenager....*LOL*

Thank for stopping by.

This waiting makes me crazzy

Yes I´m going through this again......waiting for the result of the voting over a Scrapbook Chalet and it´makes me so nervous. Is so funny and inspiring to participate this contest but I hate the waiting, it makes me crazzy.
Lets talk about something else.
I made these two double pages for submission to the new blue print book, but they didn’t pick them so now I will share them with you. Guess they didn’t like my style ;O)
Blue print # 28
Home work
Journaling:
It´s has cost blood, sweat and tears to be where we are today, where you just sit down and read your homework (almost) without any complains.I don’t think that you ever learn to read fast, but you read with 99% correctness and that is all that matters. I’m so proud that you have come so far in only 5 years and without any interest for reading.
Let´s get dirty
I used a quat by Jay Leno for the journaling
You can´t be mad
at somebody
who makes you laugh
it´s that simple.
Tomorrow I´m going to teach a class about doodling at my local scrapbook store DreamPapers, so I´m off to practise.
Have a great weekend.

I´m moving on

Yea I´m moving on to the next round of the "design like a star" contest over at Charlet. I really did think that this was the end for me. The others palyer are so talented and I´m just a girl from little Denmark where almost everybody dont know what scrapbooking is all about. many people I know don´t understand why and how I can use so many hours and money on this fantastisc hobby.
Well I´m so glad that I´m movong on because this weeks challenge is just so me....here is what Laura said about the challeng: This weeks challenge will be a hard, but fun one ~ Since everyone loves Doodling so much, I want to see a layout made with 2 photos (no less, no more) and nothing but doodling as your embellishments.. However, you are allowed to use as much paper as you want too..

I just had so much fun creatingthis layout for the challenge.....as you know I just love Doodling.

The journaling is on of my favourtite quats by Amy Bloom

Love at first sight

it´s when two people

that it becomes a miracle.

I draw the hearts and arrows by hand, colored them with water color penciels and the cut them out.

I´m very pleased with the result and know i just hpoe that some of they others player like it and wote for me ;O)

I did some scrapping today while I’m waiting for the result of the voting over at Chalet.
It´s a gift bag and a card to a colleague of mine who has give her notice. I so a link to the gift bag over at Chalet and just had to try even though I’m not much of a card maker.
I’m so nervous and curious to see if I’m through to week # 9. The others players are so talented and have made some awesome designs. I guess I just have to wait for the result.....thank for looking.

Challenge # 8

yea I´m through to challenge # 8 in the "Design like a star " over at Scrapbooks Chalet. I never thought that I would been between the last 8 players. They other players are so talented, so I´m not sure that I´m going through the week......but I guess I just have to wait and see.

This weeks challenges was so funny. Each player are teamed with someone else from the game. We are to choose each others layout and/or altered item from the gallery and scraplift it.

I ´m teamed with Elisa K and it was hard to choose one of her layout to scraplift because there were to many great layouts in her gallery.

Here is my version of one of Elisa K´s layout.
I used water coloer pencil on the titel and the flowers. I just love the effect.
Journaling:
The first ice cream of the year was according to the traditional from Hornbæk waffle bakery.Raspberry sorbet and caramel ice are the hit of the year.
I made this one useing a skecht from Di Hickman. You can se the skecht on her beautiful blog.
The photos are from our summer vacation back in 2005 were we went to a little Danish island call Møn.
We took a long walk along the beach and the beautiful cliff of chalk.
We were caught in the rain and I have never been so wet before in me life, when we finally got back to the car.
My daughter Signe was sure that she had got the most rain…….silly girl.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Withsuntide

I hope you all have had a happy Whitsuntide. I did.

Whit sauterday I was to a privat crop at my good friend Karen aka Lindse. We had a great time and did get time to be creative between all the talking, eating very teasty buns which her sweet husband had baked for us, drinking coofee and playing with her cute lovely little boy.

here is the layout I made.....it´s my dog Speedy

I also had time to finish my birthday calendar. I got the inspiration to the calendar from Isabelle Cipriani ´s ( avery talented French girl) tutorials "how to make a bithrdays book" over a Scrapbooks Chalet. many of the elements in the calendar are lifted from Isabelle so all the credits goes to her.

I have used paper from My Mind Eyes and flowers from Bazzill, Prima and Heidi Swapp. Most of letters are made from my sizzix and some of them are foam letters from American Craft.

I´m so happy and I feel so honoured to bee between the last 8 ones in the "Desing like a star" contest. I can't believe it yet
